National Symphony Orchestra at The Center, Feb. 24 2011

The National Symphony Orchestra will perform live at The Center on Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

For the past 80 years, they’ve entertained U.S. presidents and countless others in our nation’s capital. On Feb. 24, the National Symphony Orchestra will bring its time-honored show to The Center for Rural Development in Somerset for a special, one-night-only performance.

Direct from the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the 100-piece National Symphony Orchestra will entertain all with a mix of classic and contemporary selections. The performance is part of the 2011 American Residencies proudly presented by the Kentucky Arts Council in partnership with the National Symphony Orchestra.

“I have had the pleasure of listening to the National Symphony Orchestra live during numerous special occasions during my 30 years in Washington,” said U.S. Congressman Harold “Hal” Rogers. “They perform for presidential inaugurations, official holiday celebrations, countless international occasions and now the orchestra is coming to Somerset, my hometown.

“Thanks to The Center, people across the Southern Kentucky can enjoy their remarkable talent and understand why only elite musicians get to perform  with the National Symphony Orchestra,” Rogers said.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children, and are available at The Center Box Office at 606-677-6000, or on centertech.com by clicking here. Catch this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see one of the nation’s top orchestras at The Center!
