The Centerlane–Checking out the Tri-CitiesMarch 11, 2011
I recently had the privilege of visiting the Tri-Cities area of Harlan County, Kentucky. The Tri-Cities are comprised of Cumberland, Benham, and Lynch and are located between the Black Mountain and Pine Mountain in Eastern Kentucky. On this particular day, the Tri-Cities had just gotten a bit of snow which made the mountains a breathtaking sight to behold.
The cold weather and snow did not damper the spirit of the community members of Cumberland, Benham, and Lynch! We all gathered at a local restaurant for the unveiling of a brand new tourism website for the Tri-cities area. With the help of The Center for Rural Development, the Tri-Cities received a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission to implement part of their strategic plan–creating a website to attract business and tourism.
As you can see, the website is very professional and allows visitors to look up everything from restaurants to churches. If you would like to check out the new website, please visit www.tricitiesky.org.
I was very inspired by the people of the Tri-Cities area. They are truly passionate about economic growth and have done a great job working together for the good of their communities.
