Thanks to a series of free school safety training videos made available by the Small, Rural, Tribal and Border Regional Center (SRTB-RC), rural first responders across the United States are receiving the training they need to know how to prepare for and respond to an active shooter incident.

The SRTB-RC, a public safety program operated by The Center for Rural Development, provides free school safety resource materials for law enforcement officers on the frontlines keeping their schools and communities safe.

The training materials include eight CDs or DVDs that cover such topics as how to coordinate a multi-agency command post; school bus security; and what to do in the first 20 minutes of an active shooting incident.

To view all of the school safety resource materials available on SRTB-RC’s website, click here to access the Download page for a complete listing of video titles and a brief description on each video.

For more information on SRTB-RC, visit the website at www.srtbrc.org or call director Danny Ball at 606-677-6000.

The SRTB-RC serves as a resource and outreach center for the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), publicizing its programs and services to small, rural, tribal and border agencies across the country.
