For the sixth year, Conley Bottom Resort and The Center for Rural Development are partnering for the 2014 Houseboat Vacation Giveaway.  The winning ticket will receive a houseboat vacation valued up to $3,500 and a gasoline allowance of $200.

The fundraiser will benefit the Rogers Scholars Program, The Center’s flagship youth program, which provides leadership and college scholarship opportunities to help upcoming high school juniors in Eastern and Southern Kentucky develop the skills they need to seize their potential as the region’s next generation of business and entrepreneurial leaders.

“We are grateful to Conley Bottom for their continued support in helping to develop our next generation of leaders,” said Delaney Stephens, Youth Programs Coordinator and Community Liaison at The Center.  “This program provides education, training and leadership development in high-growth industries, and connects youth in Eastern and Southern Kentucky to scholarship opportunities at 17 partnering colleges and universities.  We need the help of Kentucky communities everywhere to ensure that our youth get the education and training they need to compete in the global marketplace without having to leave home.”

Conley Bottom Resort, located in Monticello, KY, is one of Southern Kentucky’s premier marinas offering vacation rentals, food, camping and much more.  Located on Lake Cumberland, the resort gives vacationers access to 1,255 miles of shoreline and 66,000 surface acres, and serves as a popular vacation destination for many residents who live in the Eastern, Midwestern and Southeastern portions of the U.S.

“With lake levels restored to previous levels, it’s a great time to plan a vacation at beautiful Conley Bottom Resort.  There could be no better feeling than to have the winning ticket and receive a houseboat vacation, while at the same time, knowing that your contribution benefits youth in our region,” said Elizabeth Burton, Director of Business Development and Public Relations at The Center.  “It’s a win-win situation for everyone.”

Tickets are $5 each, and there is no limit to the number of tickets that an individual may purchase.  Anyone residing in the U.S. may purchase a ticket.  To purchase tickets, call The Center at 606-677-6000 or email youth@centertech.com.  You may also purchase tickets at one of the following Somerset, KY partnering locations:  Key Associates Waterfront Realty, Eagle’s Nest Country Club, and Lake Cumberland Tourism.

The winning ticket will be drawn on July 11, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at The Center for Rural Development.  You do not need to be present to win.
