Dale Ann Bradley

Born and raised in the coal fields of Kentucky, Dale Ann fell in love with bluegrass music at a young age. Her first “big” break came in 1989 when she was contracted to perform at the Renfro Valley Barn Dance in Renfro Valley, KY.

Many fans will remember Dale Ann from her Renfro Valley Barn Dance days and one of her earliest original compositions, “Run Rufus Run.” She penned the song from a true-to-life story about a young and reluctant moonshine runner in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.

Over the years, Dale Ann has had a tremendous impact on bluegrass music. She is a five-time Female Bluegrass Vocalist of the Year, a distinction given by the International Bluegrass Music Association, and was nominated for a Grammy in 2015 for “Best Bluegrass Album” for her album, “Pocket Full of Keys.”

A new self-titled album, “Dale Ann Bradley,” is scheduled to be released in August. The recording was made primarily with her touring band: Mike Sumner on banjo, Tim Dishman on bass, Scotty Powers on mandolin, Matt Leadbetter on reso-guitar, and Bradley on guitar.
