Request for Proposals Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Grants
The Center for Rural Development’s “Developing and Implementing Community Strategies Program” is accepting grant applications from local government units and nonprofits in cities and counties in Southern and Eastern Kentucky for funding support from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) for projects that build and strengthen community capacity.
During this funding cycle, The Center will award ARC Flex-E Grant funding to communities to encourage and support improved community strategic planning throughout the region. The Center will be awarding these grants for either the successful creation of a strategic plan or the implementation of priority community development projects that align with the guidelines of this program. Although the primary intent of the program is to support efforts that help develop local capacity, eligible activities may also include collaboration among communities in support of existing and emerging regional development efforts.
The application period will be open through January 6, 2016.
Individual project awards will range from $5,000 up to a maximum of $10,000. All projects must be completed within a six-month period.
Counties eligible to apply for ARC funding support through The Center include: Bath, Bell, Breathitt, Carter, Casey, Clay, Clinton, Cumberland, Elliott, Estill, Fleming, Floyd, Harlan, Hart, Jackson, Johnson, Knott, Knox, Lawrence, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Lewis, Lincoln, Magoffin, Martin, McCreary, Menifee, Metcalfe, Monroe, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Powell, Robertson, Rockcastle, Rowan, Russell, Wayne, Whitley, and Wolfe.
