Special Agent Stephen Oakes of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) will be the guest speaker at the October chamber luncheon.

Oakes is a Special Agent assigned to the FBI Louisville Division’s Cyber Squad. Prior to being in Louisville, Oakes was assigned to the Cyber Initiative and Resource Fusion Unit (CIRFU) of the FBI, co-located with the National Cyber Forensics and Training Alliance (NCFTA) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and before that was assigned to the FBI Washington DC Division’s Criminal Cyber Squad.

Oakes has worked for the FBI the last 11 years and his experience includes investigations into cyber threats including intrusions, botnets, bullet-proof hosting, skimming, and the underground economy. He holds a bachelor of science in computer science from Georgetown College, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky School of Law, and a master of science in Information Technology from Carnegie Melon University.”
