Songs From The Soul
Lake Cumberland Performing Arts, in partnership with The Center for Rural Development, presents the School Time Theatre performance of “Songs From The Soul” by professional actors from the Theatre IV touring company.
This revue of African-American music from slave songs to jazz to blues to rap is top-tapping entertainment. It’s also a vital history lesson that teaches pride, responsibility, and respect.
“Songs From The Soul,” recommended for grades 3-12, is based on a book by William Dye with music and lyrics by various artists.

School Time Theatre is presented by Lake Cumberland Performing Arts in partnership with The Center.
The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, provides operating support to Lake Cumberland Performing Arts with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Theatre IV is a nonprofit, professional theatre for young audiences. Since 1975, the company has toured from Wisconsin to Florida to Maine, while also presenting major productions in its home city of Richmond, Va.
