“Songs from the Soul”

Lake Cumberland Performing Arts, in partnership with The Center for Rural Development, presents the School Time Theatre performance of “Songs From The Soul” by professional actors from the Theatre IV touring company.

This revue of African-American music from slave songs to jazz to blues to rap is top-tapping entertainment. It’s also a vital history lesson that teaches pride, responsibility, and respect.

“Songs From The Soul,” recommended for grades 3-12, is based on a book by William Dye with music and lyrics by various artists.

To make school reservations for “Songs From The Soul,” visit the School Time Theatre page. Performances are scheduled for 10 a.m. and noon.

School Time Theatre is presented by Lake Cumberland Performing Arts in partnership with The Center.

The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, provides operating support to Lake Cumberland Performing Arts with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
