Forward in the Fifth
Forward in the Fifth is a grassroots organization created in 1986 by U.S. Congressman Harold “Hal” Rogers (KY-05), business and community leaders, and educators to reverse low educational attainment rates in Southern and Eastern Kentucky.
An affiliate of The Center for Rural Development, Forward in the Fifth serves as a catalyst to help unite individuals and communities to form a structure in which positive change can occur.
To make that happen, Forward in the Fifth mission centers concentrate on three key actions—engage, advocate, and support—as the nonprofit organization moves forward to motivate community stakeholders to achieve higher levels of educational attainment for all citizens in Southern and Eastern Kentucky and beyond.
