A Beautiful Spring Day in Clay County!

The Clay County Emblem found in the new Justice Center
The next stop on my road trip through Eastern Kentucky–Clay County! On a recent, lovely Spring day, I hopped in my car to visit with elected officials in Manchester, Kentucky. The trip was a delightful one, and I very much enjoyed speaking with Mayor Saylor and County Judge-Executive Asher.
The Justice Center, alone, speaks very highly for Clay County. Upon entry, I found the Clay County emblem right beneath my feet. I must say, the photo to the left does not compare to how beautiful the seal is in person.
After leaving the Justice Center, my trip to Clay County took an interesting turn. It must be understood, to preface this story, that my love for the University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball team runs very deeply in my veins. I had heard for a few weeks that former Senior, Josh Harrelson, was launching an autograph tour around the state. I initially was very excited about the tour, but I figured I would never be in the same place at the same time as the famous Senior.
- Josh Harrelson in Manchester
Never have I ever been so wrong.
As I am leaving Manchester, I see a sign at the local Wendy’s glowing in the distance. It reads, “Meet Josh Harrelson here April 19 5-7. We love Jorts.” What are the odds of Josh Harrelson being in Manchester during my first-ever visit to Clay County?
