Are you looking to upgrade your computer skills and learn more about how to manage, edit and print data in Microsoft Office Excel?

Or do you simply need to learn the basic fundamentals of how to use Microsoft Office PowerPoint or build upon those skills to present professional-looking presentations?

In either case, The Center for Rural Development stands ready to provide the solutions you need through its newest one-day, instructor-led training courses to be presented by Your Center of Learning, The Center’s workforce- and career-training program.

The latest scheduled training courses to be delivered by The Center include the following:

  • Excel 2007 Basic (May 19) – Participants will learn how to use Microsoft Office Excel to manage, edit, and print data. Participants will also move and copy data, learn about absolute and relative references and work with ranges, rows, and columns.
  • PowerPoint Basic 2007 (May 26) – In this course, participants will use Microsoft Office PowerPoint to create new presentations that include text, graphics, WordArt, tables, charts, and diagrams. Participants also will edit and format slide content, and apply transition effects.
  • PowerPoint Advance 2007 (June 7) – This course will help participants to customize PowerPoint by modifying Quick Access Toolbar and creating macros. Participants will apply themes and templates, and they will work with SmartArt graphics and tables.
  • Excel 2007 Advanced (June 14) – Participants will work with advanced formulas, as well as lookup functions such as VLOOKUP, MATCH, and INDEX. In addition, participants will learn about data validation and database functions such as DSUM. Participants also will learn how to work with PivotTables and PivotCharts, how to import and export data, and how to query external databases.

All courses will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in one of the meeting rooms at The Center, located at 2292 South U.S. 27 (at Traffic Light No. 15) in Somerset. The cost of each course is $149 per person unless noted otherwise.
