The Center for Rural Development and Forward in the Fifth launched a week-long series of live “College and Career Readiness: Planning Forward” webinars today in The Center’s video studio.

The webinars, which will also be available online for middle and high school students in Southern and Eastern Kentucky and beyond to view and learn more about college preparation, included host Michael Cornett, director of marketing and public relations for The Center, and panelists Kim Cleburg of Somerset Community College; Sharon Hunter of Western Kentucky University; Traci Pooler of Lindsey Wilson College; and Sean Ayers of Somerset Community College.

The webinars are presented by Forward in the Fifth, a nonprofit organization and affiliate of The Center; Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative; Green River Regional Educational Cooperative; and Sonic Foundry.

The webinars are a complement to the statewide Operation Preparation initiative March 12-16, in which eighth-graders and sophomores are learning about a variety of careers directly from professional in numerous fields.
