Tickets are on sale for the musical play, “Beauty and the Beast,” which returns to The Center for Rural Development in Somerset on Thursday, Nov. 8, for the next Children’s Prime Time Theatre performance.

Lake Cumberland Performing Arts, in partnership with The Center, presents the enchanting story of “Beauty and the Beast,” starting at 7 p.m., in The Center’s theatre.

The musical, performed by professional actors from American Family Theatre Inc., is based on the characters portrayed in children’s stories and later on the big screen about a young girl whose love for her father causes her to be trapped in a castle with the Beast.

“Beauty’s adventures at the castle help her discover the goodness and kindness of the Beast and lead to the magical moment when the Beast becomes a man,” said Dianna Winstead, associate director of arts, culture, and events. “This is a great night of entertainment for the entire family as the story of Beauty and the Beast unfolds on stage at The Center.”

Tickets to the Children’s Prime Time Theatre performance of “Beauty and the Beast” are $7 for adults and $4 for children12 and younger.

The performance is funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Kentucky Arts Council.

The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, provides operating support to Lake Cumberland Performing Arts with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
