Join us for our final cooking class of the season

cooking class graphic with logoChef Mete Sergin will be preparing Mexican cuisine for his final cooking class of the five-part series.

On the menu will be Carnitas tacos with pickled onions and Salsa Verde with Queso Fresco, grilled Mexican-style corn on the cob (Elotes), and tamales.

The South of the Border Mexican-style cooking class will be held on Tuesday, July 26, from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at The Center for Rural Development.

The cost is $25 for adults and $15 for children (10 and under).

This is the final cooking class scheduled in this season’s World Class Cuisine International cooking series.

Mexican Taco

A tamale is a traditional Mesoamerican dish made of masa (a corn-based dough), filled with meat, cheese, and vegetables, then steamed or boiled in a corn husk or banana leaf.

In this class, you will learn to prepare:

  • Sweet tamale with dried apricots, figs and pineapples with Mexican chocolate and Dulce De Leche
  • Carnitas tacos with Pickled Onions and Salsa Verde with Queso Fresco
  • Grilled Mexican-style corn on the cob (Elotes)
