Lonnie Lawson, President and CEO of The Center and Glenn Higdon, CEO of LinGate Hospitality in Owensboro, KY, welcomed guests to the new hotel.

“This is something we’ve dreamed about for a long time,” Lawson said before introducing Congressman Harold “Hal” Rogers (KY-05).

Lawson said having a hotel on site of The Center was part of the original inspiration that Rogers had for The Center.

Rogers thanked everyone who helped make having a hotel adjacent to The Center a reality— including Lawson, Higdon, and various community leaders and organizations.

“When we were conceiving The Center for Rural Development, this (hotel) was one of the key factors,” Rogers said. “It’s a great thrill to me that this hotel is owned and developed right here in Kentucky.”
