Jerry Claunch is named executive vice president

The Center for Rural Development is pleased to announce Jerry Claunch will serve as its new executive vice president.

Claunch, who spent 40-plus years working in the financial services industry, is the newest member of The Center’s Management Team.

“Jerry’s business experience and involvement in a wide variety of community service organizations in Pulaski and Russell counties will be a great asset for us, as he assumes the responsibilities of his new role as executive vice president,” said Lonnie Lawson, President and CEO of The Center.  “We will all benefit from his expertise and perspective as we work together to improve the lives of citizens across our region.”

Claunch is a former executive vice president and senior lender for both Citizens National Bank in Somerset and First National Bank in Russell Springs, where he worked 37 years and three years, respectively.  He also worked for Citizens Bank of Mt. Vernon for several months before he accepted the position of executive vice president for The Center in November 2017.

“I am very appreciative to have been given this opportunity to join the great team at The Center for Rural Development,” Claunch said.  “The things that I have learned during my years as a banker in Somerset and Russell Springs, have given me some valuable business experience that I believe will translate well into this new career opportunity at The Center.  I look forward to helping advance the far-reaching mission of The Center for Rural Development in Southern and Eastern Kentucky and beyond.”

Previous lifelong residents of Pulaski County, Claunch and his wife, Sue, moved to Russell Springs in August 2015 to live closer to their only son, Evan, and his wife, Alison, and their three grandchildren, Alex, Natalie, and Anni.  They are all members of 3trees Church in Russell Springs.
