***Tickets on sale!***

Tickets: $25 (plus taxes/fees) for adults and $15 (plus taxes/fees) for students

Lake Cumberland Performing Arts, in partnership with The Center for Rural Development, presents A.R. Gurney’s “Love Letters,” starring Meredith Baxter and Michael Gross from the hit television series “Family Ties,” on a new rescheduled date.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Center Stage performance of “Love Letters” has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21. The change was a result of a scheduling conflict with one of the actors in the show.

All previously purchased tickets for “Love Letters” will be honored on the new date. If you have already purchased tickets to “Love Letters” and cannot attend on the rescheduled date, you will be given the option of exchanging your tickets for the next scheduled Center Stage performance of “In the Mood” on March 11, 2019.

The Center for Rural Development and Lake Cumberland Performing Arts apologize for any inconvenience the change may have cause any of our theatre patrons.

Baxter and Gross are back together again in “Love Letters”

When Andrew accepts an invitation to Melissa’s birthday party, and Melissa writes a thank-you note, a romantic friendship and correspondence is born that will last more than 50 years! Though their relationship constantly changes, these pen pals remain each other’s most trusted confidantes.

This production is a tender, tragi-comic, and nuanced examination of the shared nostalgia, missed opportunities, and deep closeness of two lifelong, complicated friends. It is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences.

A touching romance through old-fashioned pen and paper, “Love Letters” is a disarmingly funny and unforgettably emotional portrait about the powerful connection of love.
