Every piece of art tells a story. A scenic Kentucky location painted by The Wandering Artists on site is the focus of a new art exhibit on display at The Center for Rural Development through April.

The Wandering Artists have painted on location at Rockcastle River Trading Company, Burnett Farms, Woodstock Lavender Company, Mill Springs, on a houseboat at Lee’s Ford Marina, Short Creek, Haney’s Appledale Farm, and Cumberland Falls.

This talented group of artists meet together as a group and travel to different locations throughout the region to paint “en plein air,” the practice of painting out of doors.

Some of the places the Wandering Artists have visited and painted on location are on display in the “Chasing the Light 2023” art exhibit, located on the wall outside the North and South Exhibit Halls.
