Farm Fresh Favorites cooking class | Aug. 7 | 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

It’s time to harvest vegetables from the garden.

The Center for Rural Development’s next cooking class, Farm Fresh Favorites, will take you from the farm to the table.

Chef Mete Sergin will be using farm-fresh vegetables and organic produce to prepare two classic summer recipes.

Menu
Tuscan panzanella bread and tomato sald
Grilled zucchini and eggplant roll-ups with herbed ricotta pesto

Serrgin has invited Ford Waterstrat of Sustainable Harvest Farm, a USDA-certified organic farm in Laurel County, to share tips on how to grow a perfect garden at home. He’ll also be bringing some of his organic vegetables to be used in the featured recipes.

Registration is $25 for adults and $15 for children (5-10 years old). For more information, call 606-677-6000 or contact McKinzie Price Loutre at mprice@centertech.com.

You may register in advance or register and pay at the door.

The Farm Fresh Favorites cooking class is part of A Taste of Kentucky cooking series presented by The Center for Rural Development’s Business & Community Training Center and Kroger Marketplace in Stonegate Center.

Coming in September….The Center for Rural Development’s A Taste of Kentucky cooking series will host its first-ever Country Brunch at a special Saturday cooking class. From the perfect omelet to made-from-scratch biscuits, it’s Southern-style cooking at its best on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at The Center.
