If you want to learn more about how to apply for federal grants, Grant Writing 201 is for you!

The Center for Rural Development is hosting a Grant Writing 201 virtual workshop on Tuesday, May 25, from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for nonprofits interested in learning more about federal grants. The training will be streamed live on Zoom and participants will be notified prior to the start of the workshop on how to get connected.

Grant Writing 201 will cover key elements of preparing and submitting federal grants. You’ll learn what to look for in a grant solicitation and how to make your application competitive.

About the Instructor 

Melissa Vermillion, director of grants and contracts for Hazard Community and Technical College, has been a grant writer for the college since 2010.

She has successfully written grant applications to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Economic Development Administration, National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, Appalachian Regional Commission, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education TRIO programs, and several private funders, securing over $20 million in grant funding.
