School Time Theatre performances offer thematic connections and core standards that will educate as well as entertain.

The Center for Rural Development and Lake Cumberland Performing Arts present the School Time Theatre performance of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have a Dream,” a dramatic play by the professional theatre company Virginia Repertory Theatre, on Feb. 2 at 10 AM at The Center in Somerset.

“I Have a Dream” follows the life and times of Dr. King from his humble beginnings in Atlanta, GA, to his rise as one of the most influential speakers of the 20th Century.

All School Time Theatre performances are approximately one hour in length.

Reserve Your Seat
Admission to School Time Theatre is $5 per student. One complimentary teacher (supervisor) admission will be provided for every 10 paid admissions. Each additional teacher (supervisor) admission is $5. Reservations are required and may be made by clicking on the School Time Theatre link below. Your reservation and advance payment will reserve the requested number of seats in the theatre.

“I Have a Dream” is one of two School Time Theatre performances planned for 2022 and commemorates Black History Month in February.
