Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce luncheon

The Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its February monthly luncheon.

Dr. Larry L. Cockrum, president of the University of the Cumberlands, will be the guest speaker.

He joined the Cumberland family in 2005. Prior to the presidency, Cockrum served as Vice President for Academic Affairs from 2007-2014. Under his leadership, enrollment grew from 1,728 students to just over 6,100 students. The university’s rapid growth is largely attributed to Cockrum’s vision for expanding the university’s affordable priced online degree programs.

Cockrum, who received a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University and a Post-Graduate certification from Harvard University, succeeded long-time President Dr. James H. Taylor.

The luncheon will begin at 12 PM (Noon) at The Center for Rural Development.
