The Center even has a full-service commercial kitchen and in-house chef and catering services, perfect for basic snacks and hors d’oeuvres, buffet-style dining, or a full dinner service for hundreds.


Located in the heart of beautiful Lake Cumberland, one

of the largest man-made lakes in the world, The Center for Rural Development is the most versatile event and meeting location between Lexington, Ky., and Knoxville, Tn.

With two spacious Exhibit Halls, five modular Ballroom meeting rooms, state-of-the-art 760-seat theatre, and other functional event space, The Center stands ready to accommodate all your meeting needs from a sit-down meeting with corporate executives to a full-service luncheon meeting for some of the region’s top business professionals.

America’s favorite cowboys, Riders in the Sky, Lee Logan and The Legendary Drifters, and rising

rock and blues musician Devon Allman—son

of legendary rock and roll icon Gregg Allman, founder of the Allman Brothers Band—all have played here.

But you don’t have to be a top-selling artist to shine at The Center. Amateurs and professionals alike have entertained audiences with a genre of music from bluegrass, county, rock, blues to western swing. The Center is all about showcasing great entertainment and talented performers whether that is in comedy, music, drama, theatre, special acts, or events.

We have something for everyone on stage at The Center.


There is not a bad seat in the house in The Center’s state-of-the-art 760-seat theatre – a perfect venue for live concert performances, shows, special events, and family-oriented entertainment.

The Center’s 2,170-square-foot stage is large enough to accommodate even a 100-piece orchestra.

The world-renowned National Symphony Orchestra­—direct from the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.,—recently played to a full house in a sold-out concert performance on the final stop of its 2011 American Residency tour of Kentucky.

The theatre, the crown jewel and showpiece of The Center’s event space, is home to Center Stage, Children’s Prime Time Theatre, and School Time Theatre performing art series presented by Lake Cumberland Performing Arts in partnership with The Center.
