The Assistance for Local Emergency Response Training (ALERT) Grant is competitively awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), to non-profit organizations capable of delivering an established curriculum for emergency responders to effectively respond to incidents surrounding the transportation of crude oil, ethanol, and other flammable liquids by rail.
The Center for Rural Development is a grantee of ALERT funding and through our partnership with The All-Hazards Training Center at the University of Findlay, offer training to emergency responders throughout the U.S.
