CenterNET2

The Center for Rural Development’s CenterNET2 videoconferencing network is a national leader in videoconferencing transmission technology for innovative educational programming.

CenterNET2 has been honored by the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) for groundbreaking distance learning programs delivered to secondary- and post-secondary students and other network users.

Some of CenterNET2’s award-winning programs have included a Kentucky history lesson on the Underground Railroad, a visit with Holocaust survivors, and an international cultural exchange program between elementary students in three South Central and Eastern Kentucky counties with their counterparts in Hong Kong.

Additionally, CenterNET2 is a statewide videoconferencing platform incorporating more than 161 educational sites into the network, including all Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) campuses across the state. CenterNET2 technology is currently being used to connect educators throughout Kentucky, creating a statewide virtual education community.
